Pati — There was something interesting about the commemoration ceremony for the 78th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in the Winong District area. This was because of Miss Giulia, a foreigner who served as a volunteer at MTsN 1 Pati, was standing on the tribune following the ceremony. All teachers, staffs, and students of MTsN 1 Pati also took part in the ceremony which took place in the field of Pekalongan Village, Thursday (17/8) morning.
Miss Giulia’s presence in the middle of the crowd caught the attention of the ceremony participants and the general public who were just watching. Many of them don’t want to miss this special moment by capturing it through group photos. Patient and friendly, Miss Giulia fulfill their request one by one. Together with the Headmaster of MTsN 1 Pati, Ali Musyafak, he also seemed to give encouragement to the Paskibraka Team before the ceremony started. Miss Giulia always gives a warm greeting by lowering her head to anyone she met this morning. She was even occasionally seen chatting and shaking hands with people who greeted her, including the local Muspika.
Participating in the ceremony was the first experience as well as a historic moment throughout her life.
“I think in Italy we do this kind of event, but it’s just for high government or at least regional government from the country police, but we’ve never had such an official event, including school and student especially,” said Miss Giulia.
According to her, the implementation of the 78th anniversary ceremony was very interesting, especially the Paskibraka members who wore all-white uniforms. For Miss Giulia, their task is not an easy one.
“It was really interesting, actually I was thinking about the student who came in wearing a white dress and I thought it was to be extremely difficult to do what they had just done and they have to be really proud it was also a competition to join the ceremony and they have to be proud of the country,” she said.
Miss Giulia, who deserves to be called the smart and friendly girl, enthusiastically followed the ceremony to the end.
“It is an honor for all of us, especially the madrasa residents, to have Miss Giulia who is willing to mingle with the community at the ceremony. It’s extraordinary,” said Syafak in awe.
“Observing when walking all the way to the ceremony venue, her hospitality deserves a thumbs up. She greets even those who are not from the madrasa. So, this is what we have to set as an example. If she can do it, we can’t lose to her,” he continued.
Syafak hopes that participating in these activities both inside and outside the madrasa can add to the experience and give an unforgettable impression while in Indonesia, especially Pati.
“In a matter of days, we, the madrasa residents will be left by Miss Giulia to return to her native country, Italy. Hopefully we can take all the lessons that Miss Giulia gave, not only about how to speak English, Japanese and so on. But also how the way she behaved towards other people,” He closed his statement.
